Australian VET Practitioners Alliance

The Australian VET Practitioners Alliance (AVA) has been established to represent the collective views of individuals working in the Australian VET system. This includes:

  • Trainers and assessors
  • TAFE teachers
  • VET in School teachers
  • Coordinators and managers
  • LLN specialists and consultants
  • Course designers and resource developers
  • RTO compliance officers and auditors.

The initial focus is about giving a voice to VET Practitioners during the review of the TAE Training Package (and the expected change to the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment).

Becoming an AVA member

AVA welcomes all VET practitioners.

  • Membership to the group is free
  • Membership is optional (an individual can opt in, or opt out at any time)
  • There is an expectation that individuals will be an active member of the group by participating (for example, responding to surveys or joining a committee).

Go to the AVA LinkedIn Group and request to join: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/13987618/

Getting involved as an AVA committee member

The activities of AVA will be organised by committees. Expressions of interest about becoming a committee member are welcomed. The proposed activities are:

  • Contribute to the review of the TAE Training Package by:
    • Develop surveys and gather data
    • Conduct desktop research
    • Write and publish data-based statements and reports
    • Promote and present data-based statements and reports that have been published by the AVA
  • Deliver professional development opportunities for VET practitioners
    • Webinars
    • Workshops
    • Conferences

Have your say

  • Join the group.
  • Participate in polls and surveys.
  • Make comments and contribute to conversations.

The larger our number, the louder our voice. I hope we can grow the membership number to 200+ before the end of July 2021.
