Assessment tasks for the TAE40122 qualification

The draft TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification and associated draft TAE units of competency had been released. I have used these draft documents to create a ‘standard TAE40122 program‘. The following table shows the seven core units and the five elective units that I have selected.

Assessment tasks

My ‘standard TAE40122 program‘ is structured around seven learning blocks:

  • The VET framework (VET)

This article gives information about the assessment tasks that are associated with each learning block of my ‘standard TAE40122 program‘ .

In conclusion

My ‘standard TAE40122 program‘ consists of 23 assessment tasks.

The first assessment task for each learning block gathers the specified Knowledge Evidence for the unit or units of competency. The other assessment tasks gather the specified Performance Evidence. The number of assessment tasks for each learning block depends on the specified volume of performance evidence and making it a simple as possible.

The assessment approach is designed to:

  • Easy for the TAE Trainer to implement
  • Easy for the TAE Student to comprehend what to do
  • Compliant with the TAE Training Package requirements.

This article give you an outline of my assessment approach. Each assessment task that gathers performance evidence consists of several parts presented in a logical sequence. And sometimes, these parts have steps to be performed.

All assessment tasks, all parts of an assessment task, and all steps to be performed are clearly described. All instructions to the TAE Trainer and instructions to the TAE Student are written in plain English.
