This article focuses on the TAEDEL411 Facilitate accredited vocational training unit of competency.

This unit has five elements:

  • Prepare for vocational training
  • Customise vocational training
  • Deliver vocational training
  • Support individual and group learning
  • Review vocational training practice.

I have unpacked the elements and performance criteria to create a simplified 3-part assessment process. This will make it easier for TAE Students to comprehend the requirements for this unit of competency.

Assessment requirements for the TAEDEL411 unit

Knowledge evidence

An assessment task will be required to gather the specified Knowledge Evidence. A TAE Student must demonstrate they have the following knowledge:

  • VET regulatory requirements for the facilitation of individual and group-based training
  • RTO procedures for facilitation of individual and group-based training
  • Contents of training and assessment strategies relevant to the facilitation of individual and group-based training
  • Learning theories and adult learning principles relevant to the learning cohort, and their application to the facilitation of individual and group-based training
  • Resources available to support identifying training facilitation techniques that suit different learners
  • Techniques for customising session plans and learning resources to suit learner characteristics and needs
  • Techniques appropriate for facilitating individual and group-based training
  • Behaviours that may indicate learner difficulties, and methods used to address these difficulties
  • Training practices and methods that promote safe and inclusive learning environments
  • Cultural sensitivity and equity and wellness considerations in training
  • WHS responsibilities relating to training, including common hazards and risks, and risk controls.

Performance evidence

My 3-part assessment process (see above) can be used to structure the gathering of performance evidence for the TAEDEL411 Facilitate accredited vocational training unit of competency.

The volume of performance evidence will require the TAE Student to:

  • Deliver training to a group of learners (group size is to be at least four learners)
  • Deliver training to an individual.
